On November 10, international television broadcaster and bestselling author Piers Morgan made his first visit to the Nixon Library to discuss his new book, Woke is Dead: How Common Sense Triumphed in an Age of Total Madness.
In conversation with radio host Jennifer Horn, Morgan explored the return to common sense following a decade of “woke” ideology influencing nearly every aspect of life. With characteristic candor and humor, he discussed the effects of cancel culture and the resurgence of meritocracy. “I think this book will, hopefully, be the death knell of an ideology that has been incredibly insidious to democracy and to society,” Morgan said.
Morgan also reflected on the decline of civic duty among young people and the rise of political radicalization, but he ended on an optimistic note. Describing himself as a “glass-half-full” person, he shared that his book offers thirteen rules for life to serve as a roadmap toward joy, unity, and a more sensible future.
