Chapman University President Matt Parlow Elected to Richard Nixon Foundation Board of Directors

Accomplished Education Leader Brings Expertise in Advancement and Civic Engagement, Strengthening the Foundation’s Current Initiatives

YORBA LINDA, CA — November 17, 2025 — The Richard Nixon Foundation is excited to welcome Matt Parlow, President of Chapman University, to its Board of Directors. A nationally recognized leader in higher education and university advancement, Parlow brings a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, fundraising, and educational initiatives. His leadership and expertise will help the Nixon Foundation expand its impact as a national leader in civics education.

Parlow assumed the presidency of Chapman University in September 2025. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Advancement Officer, and Parker S. Kennedy Chair in Law at Chapman, overseeing the university’s fundraising effort and an impressive portfolio of key strategic areas. During his tenure, Chapman  experienced transformational growth and reached more than $400 million toward its $500 million goal for Inspire: The Campaign for Chapman University. He also served as Dean and Donald P. Kennedy Chair in Law at Chapman’s Fowler School of Law, where today he holds the Donald Bren Presidential Chair in Law.

Prior to Chapman, Parlow was Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Law at Marquette University Law School, and earlier worked as a law clerk and in private legal practice. He holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A., magna cum laude, in History from Loyola Marymount University.

Parlow’s appointment brings the Nixon Foundation Board of Directors to 24 members, including Board Chairman Ambassador Robert O’Brien, President Nixon’s daughters Tricia Nixon Cox and Julie Nixon Eisenhower, nationally syndicated radio host Hugh Hewitt, and Southern California restaurateur Charlie Zhang. Directors Emeritus include former California Governor Pete Wilson, former U.S. Ambassador to Spain George L. Argyros, and Congressional Gold Medal recipient Everett Alvarez, Jr.
