Steve Hilton to moderate the awards program in September
YORBA LINDA, Calif. — The Richard Nixon Foundation is proud to announce Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders as the 2025 recipient of the Champion of the American Dream Award. This honor recognizes Governor Sanders’ courage, clarity and deep commitment to American values demonstrated both in her current role as Governor of Arkansas and formally as White House Press Secretary.
Governor Sanders made history in 2022 as the first woman elected Governor of Arkansas and is currently the youngest governor in the nation. Her landmark LEARNS Act reflects her bold vision for empowering the next generation through education reform. By expanding school choice, raising teacher pay, and emphasizing literacy and civics, she is equipping more young Americans with the tools they need to achieve the American Dream. Her leadership closely aligns with the Richard Nixon Foundation’s American Civics Campaign — a national initiative to strengthen civics education and promote informed, engaged citizenship.
The Richard Nixon Foundation’s Champion of the American Dream Award celebrates individuals who, like President Nixon, lift others up and leave the nation stronger than they found it. From his humble beginnings in a modest home his father built to his service as a Congressman, Senator, Vice President and ultimately the 37th President of the United States, President Nixon’s life is a powerful testament of the American Dream.
This award recognizes exceptional leaders who embody his ideals of hard work, service to others and an unwavering commitment to the promise of America.
Governor Sanders will be honored at a special awards luncheon at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. The program will be moderated by Steve Hilton, California gubernatorial candidate and political commentator. All sponsorships and ticket sales for the awards luncheon support the Richard Nixon Foundation’s forthcoming special exhibition “America 250: A More Perfect Union” and its yearlong programming.
Press credentials are required to cover the award ceremony in person. To request press credentials, please contact Carrie Anderson at carriea@nixonfoundation.org.
